Easy as AE is an affordable solution for employers to meet their automatic enrolment duties.

Easy as AE has been created by Lucas Fettes & Partners, a national, independently owned and regulated financial adviser, employee benefits advisory practice and insurance broker. Every day we help employers across the UK to meet their automatic enrolment duties but there are many more who could benefit from our expertise. To make this more affordable we are offering a range of services, delivered via telephone and email, to help you meet your new legal duties.

How does it work?

There are many disparate sources of information on automatic enrolment, and tools available to help with certain calculations and decisions. With Easy as AE, our aim is to equip you with all the information, advice and guidance you need to make your automatic enrolment journey as easy as possible.

We offer two options for employers. Both will deliver a single personalised automatic enrolment planning report that will:

  • help you understand and make the key decisions you need to make
  • provide for a suitable workplace pension for your organisation
  • set up that workplace pension for you, and
  • provide advice and guidance on how to manage your initial and ongoing compliance duties.

For both options, you can access technical support through our telephone and email helpdesk.

**With effect from 23 November 2015, employers using The People’s Pension for their workplace
pension scheme will be charged a one-off fee of £300 + VAT when working through an adviser
(or £500 + VAT if not using an adviser). This fee is payable direct to The People’s Pension.

Description of services

Discovery conversation – by telephone

Our discovery conversation will ensure you’re fully aware of all your responsibilities and duties. Over the course of 30–40 minutes we’ll talk you through the automatic enrolment process and gather all the information we need to provide you with a personalised automatic enrolment planning report and recommendations. During the call we’ll:

  • provide an overview of automatic enrolment and your duties as an employer
  • identify objectives and any constraints
  • identify your workplace pension requirements
  • provide guidance on contribution options, worker categories and postponement, and
  • discuss the compliance aspect, including review of payroll functionality.

Personalised automatic enrolment planning report

We’ll produce your personalised automatic enrolment planning report based on the information we collect during the telephone discovery conversation. We‘ll aim to deliver your report within 7 working days of receiving all the information we need. It will include:

  • an assessment of your workforce
  • our recommendations for a workplace pension scheme
  • our recommendations for a compliance solution
  • an overview of your duties and how to meet these, and
  • a project plan to assist you in implementing the steps required to meet your new legal duties.

Pension supplier market review and selection (only as part of Easy +)

Having researched the market for workplace pensions, with Pension PlayPen we will analyse the information you have given us and:

  1. Match you with workplace pension providers that have schemes suitable for you
  2. Recommend which scheme best meets your requirements by considering a range criteria and your organisation’s particular circumstances

This service is wholly independent and unbiased. You’ll have peace of mind that the supplier you use for your workplace pension is the best choice for you and your employees, and that this process is certified by independent actuaries.

Workplace pension scheme set up with recommended supplier (only as part of Easy +)

Having identified which pension supplier best meets your requirements (see Pension supplier independent market review, report and selection, above) we can then set up your workplace pension scheme with that supplier. We’ll:

  • collect the information required to set up your scheme
  • work with the recommended pension supplier to establish your scheme
  • provide communications to your employees about the scheme (pre-staging date)
  • provide a telephone and email helpdesk for your employees, and
  • complete your Declaration of Compliance (on receipt of the necessary information from you).

Because we work with Pension PlayPen to recommend your pension supplier, you’ll get an actuarial certificate to share with your stakeholders, to demonstrate the due diligence followed in arriving at your scheme choice.

If you don’t want us to undertake a review of the pension supplier market for you but would like us to set up a workplace pension scheme, we’ll do so with The People’s Pension. We’ll:

  • collect the information required to set up your scheme
  • work with The People’s Pension to establish your scheme
  • provide communications to your employees about the scheme (pre-staging date)
  • provide a telephone and email helpdesk for your employees, and
  • complete your Declaration of Compliance (on receipt of the necessary information from you).

Access to technical support via telephone and email helpdesk

With both options you’ll automatically receive access to our telephone and email helpdesk, so if you have a particular query relating to your automatic enrolment duties you can ask an expert. Our advisers are at the end of the phone between 9.00am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday, and will respond to any emails the same or next working day.
